The brief.
Ogle first commissioned Strand in 2014 to raise its profile in key trade publications. As one of the UK’s most respected prototyping companies, Ogle wanted visibility that matched its reputation for technical excellence. Over time, the brief grew. By 2020, Strand had become Ogle’s outsourced marketing and PR team, trusted to manage everything from press and PR to digital, social and business development support.

The strategy.
We positioned Ogle as the go-to authority in prototyping by combining deep technical understanding with integrated marketing. Our team invested time to learn Ogle’s processes inside out – from SLS and CNC to SLA – so we could talk credibly to specialist audiences. With that foundation, we built a joined-up programme: consistent PR in trade media, strong social media engagement, targeted Google Ads, email campaigns and tailored business development activity. The goal was simple: make every channel work together so Ogle’s technical reputation translated into commercial growth. We also supported Ogle’s milestone anniversaries, delivering branding and creative for both its 65th and 70th celebrations.
The point.
The results speak for themselves. Bounce rates on organic traffic fell by 23 per cent, email open rates rose from 11.75 per cent to 18.3 per cent, cost-per-click on Google Ads dropped by 42 per cent and paid traffic engagement increased by 37 per cent. Even during Covid, we cut advertising spend by more than half while maintaining conversions. Beyond the numbers, Ogle’s profile has risen significantly, with consistent coverage in industry-leading titles, a growing LinkedIn community and a reputation as innovators trusted by global brands.

Testimonial.
“We have found working with Strand to be quick, fast-paced as they’re like an extension of our team. They listen to our requirements and have the capacity to cover all aspects of marketing. They just get on with it and don’t hang about.”
